Reflection

How many people in your stainless-steel counters? Or the water in your cup, or this stranger’s eyes? Do you see someone else in every mirror, or when you look down at your new leather boots? The too shiny lip gloss, the freshly washed windshield, the tinted sunglasses you’ve had for too long?

What do you think of her or them? Do you pick them apart or do you let them rest? Do you see all the parts or is there a whole? Hair, nose, lips, eyes. Hooded, symmetrical, or off? Freckles, skin, texture, teeth. How many of us are there?
